I work with preschool aged, special needs students and provide early intervention for cognitive and social skills. Our boys (yes! all boys so far this year) are curious, bright, sweet and eager to learn. Our students have special needs which are addressed through resource and early intervention, however they are with typical peers most of their day.
We truly believe that early intervention is the key to the success of our students.
We work with our students to learn basic cognitive and social skills and prepare them for Kindergarten. We are constantly looking for ways to challenge and engage our students in learning for their future!
My Project
These materials will be used to help my students get back to the basics. We have recently assessed our students and found them lacking in basic pre-academic skills such as letter and numeral recognition. Using hands on games and activities like the Construct-A-Letter activity center to help my students learn letters and numbers, will help prepare them for academic skills they will need in kindergarten. Learning through play is a wonderful way for preschool aged children to gain the skills necessary to be successful in elementary school. The materials that I have selected will give our students hands-on experiences to gain letter and number recognition skills. Our classroom is lacking some basic games and items that will help us build these skills in our students and help them get a jump start on kindergarten concepts.
