Help me give my students access to quality materials such as Post It easel paper, dry erase Expo markers and stickers to motivate and celebrate success.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Each year I teach 180 students within Baltimore City Public Schools. Our resources are limited but our students deserving. The school I teach at has a high number of low income and even impoverished students. But that does not provide accurate insight to who my students are. They are witty, intelligent, energized young adults who thrive with supports in place.
That is the purpose of my project is to provide the basics so they can be successful.
Items such as headphones so students can listen to audio books and videos during class time. Dry Expo markers and cleaner for their small white boards and our classroom boards. Stickers as rewards and recognition. Sharpie flip chart markers and Post It easel paper for anchor charts.
My Project
These materials will allow students to be active participants in the classroom. Students will be able to use chart paper to share ideas and create classroom anchor charts. Stickers will be used as motivation when students achieve literary milestones (completing books).
Dry erase markers will be used for students to show learning via small white boards when working in groups and participating in class wide learning games.
Headphones will be used to allow all students to access the content and incorporate different learning styles. My students all learn in different ways and supporting learners in a way that is relevant and accessible to them is important.
