Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a public, charter school. I have a bright and eager to learn group of 1st grade students.
My school has a diverse population of students, many of whom receive free or reduced cost lunch.
A large proportion of students speak English as a Second Language. Many students do not have the ability to bring in basic supplies to share in the classroom. Many of my students have ADD and ADHD and would benefit from having these items in our classroom as well. They are so excited to come to school each and every day.
My Project
In my classroom, my students love to have hands on learning. We go through some of the supplies so quickly. My class uses dry erase markers, erasers, scissors, tape and paint brushes on a daily/weekly basis. We use them when creating our interactive notebooks and other classroom activities.
Unfortunately, we have started to run low on some of these necessary supply items.
My classroom would love to be able to continue to run some of our centers and small group activities, but are quickly needing to replace our supplies. My students love the experience of using some of the supplies they may or may not have access to anywhere else.
