Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It's hard to describe my students with one blanket statement, aside from saying they bring joy into my life in one way or another. At the Title I campus where I teach, many students face hardships both at school and at home. Despite their home life, my students come to school with drive and diligence.
My students may not have everything that they need to be ready for the day, but they always show up ready to learn!
Additionally, my students come from a variety of backgrounds. My school is located less than ten miles away from one of the largest Army installations in the United States and is less than five miles away from the U.S./Mexico border.
My students are creative and full of life. I know that with the proper resources in their hands, their learning experience can be taken to a whole different level.
My Project
Next year my classroom will be following the blended learning model which encourages students to be in charge of mastering their contents while become self-directed learners that know what they need to work on. My students will benefit most from an organized classroom that they can navigate around with ease with all of the necessary essentials for a blended learning classroom.
My students will spend a lot of time either working independently on skills/concepts that they need to improve on or in small group with me.
These requested materials, such as lamination sheets, Avery labels, or poly folders, will help me prepare and organize for centers, one-on-one review, and whole group instruction.
Sheet protectors and a fine new sharpener for colored pencils will help us keep our data folders neat while clipboards will allow my students to branch out and work in a place that best fits their needs.
