My Students
Diversity: it's what makes my classroom and students great! Each and every one of my students bring something to the classroom that I cannot. My classroom is a mosaic of individuals who all share the same goal: to evaluate world history and apply that knowledge to our everyday lives.
We build together, learn together, and grow together.
Each day my students bring their various ideas, cultures, and backgrounds to our history lessons! Their perspectives allow me to learn alongside them!
My Project
My students are mini historians! As mini historians, there are some basic necessities my students use on a daily basis to collaborate with their peers: paper, books, markers, dry erase boards, pencils, sticky notes, pens, scissors. This list goes on!
I want to be able to give my students opportunities to expand their imagination, creativity, and research abilities.
This project will help me do just that! It is the knowledge, respect, and culture learned within our classroom that will allow my students to change the world around them! They cannot change the world without the necessary resources and opportunities. With your help, I can give them those resources.
In particular, the dry erase boards will work to give my students a word wall. On this word wall students will brainstorm relevant vocabulary terms and use the wall as a reference source throughout our units! Also, the colored paper will be used to create foldables for various units throughout the remaining school year. So far this school year, our class has created eight foldables for different units! The table and bean bags will be used in our classroom's "comfy corner," an incentive for students who do well during the week. The other materials will be used on a daily basis for those students who are not able to purchase necessary materials for class.
