This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are 9th through 12th graders in a urban community in our nation's capital. Many of my students are not on grade level in reading or math. Most of my students are of low socioeconomic status and many of their parents have just a high school diploma. Many of my students deal with adverse conditions outside of school, but my students have hope. Most want to go to college and want to do well in life. They know they have a voice; they just want to be heard.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my classroom because you are providing basic supplies like folders, cardstock, and pencil holders for my students to maximize their learning (and earning) potential.
Because we are not greedy, we are simply asking for supplies to enhance our learning environment!
Your assistance will help us present to others what we have learned and help teach them in the process. You can help us increase our human capital because we are visual learners so the Post-it sticky notes and chart paper will help our teacher reach all of us!
We thank you in advance for your support of our project. Love, Ms. W's class.
