Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We, the players of Ms. K's class, will work hard to be the best team. We will complete our work, meet our AR goals, and have a lot of fun. -Student created mission statement.
My 18 new first grade students are full of energy and love learning new things every day.
Most of them come from a low income home where school is a safe place to spend their days. Each student is given a free breakfast every morning as well as free lunch.
My Project
I am requesting materials that are used daily in primary grades, such as erasers, pencils, plastic bags, and materials to create centers (colored paper and laminating sheets). Without these necessary materials the students won't be able to complete their daily centers, as well as many other engaging activities during the day! I am also requesting materials to keep the classroom organized and flowing smoothly. The paper trays will allow the students to keep all of their classroom materials organized and in one place.
Each year more and more of my students do not come prepared with basic school supplies that they need to become successful.
Closing this gap for them will allow them to feel comfortable and confident in their learning.
