Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a group of amazing students who want nothing else but a solid, stable reading foundation.
All of my students arrive early to school with beaming smiles, and they all have the courage to learn and take on new challenges every day.
Our school is in a big urban city. Our students make our school and neighborhood seem so beautiful and calm because they are the most polite children you will ever meet in an urban school or city.
Our school is in one of America's lowest income neighborhoods, yet our teachers do everything in their power to make sure their students have all of the needed materials to be successful. The student population is comprised largely of English Language Learners and students with special needs.
Our students and parents are always grateful. We, as teachers, find ways to supply our students with all of the needed learning tools to make their school year successful.
My Project
I am asking for simple school supplies like crayons, color pencils, scissors, a stapler and white out. All of the supplies will be put to use on the first day of school. My intentions are to use all of these items as shared community items, but the truth is that some items might be given to students that come in with no school supplies.
In order to have a positive school year, my students need to have school supplies to thrive.
All of the materials will be used by students to complete simple math and reading tasks or to express themselves artistically.
