Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students do not get what normal, suburban students expect in the classroom. Updated boards, desks, and supplies are in limited quantity.
The students I teach come from low-income and sometimes single family households.
I teach in an urban environment, where a lot of the students' do not have money for school supplies. My students are very interested and creative when it comes to science, but lack the organization and supplies in order to express their creativity. This donation would certainly help them!
My Project
I am requesting teacher and student organization and management materials such as hall passes, desk organization supplies, motivational posters, periodic table of elements poster, information about using interactive notebooks, paper organization, and much more. My students will be able to use the following materials throughout the year in their science classroom. The elements poster will allow the students a visual reference when learning about chemicals. I will be able to better teach interactive notebooks and the students will in return be able to learn with a more hands on method.
My students have not really had the opportunity to have these everyday materials in the classroom like suburban students.
It would be wonderful for my students to come back to school and see all these great management and organizational supplies.
