Help me give my students a back-to-school feeling in January to match the mood from August with new supplies such as composition books, highlighters, paper, erasers, and other necessary items!
Students are excited to return to their schools in August with new school supplies that they are the first to utilize. With a restock of new supplies for their return to school session in January, the excitement for the new pencils, erasers, sticky notes, composition books, highlighters, glue sticks, and paper are used daily in learning by taking notes, completing worksheets, and/or doing supplemental projects for the lessons taught by their teachers.
By having available NEW items that are THEIRS to use will influence students' excitement of learning and rejuvenate their feelings, expectations, and desires to maximize their scholastic experiences.
Of special interest are the students who are not as readily capable of replenishing their scholastic inventory due to monetary constraints or other factors such as unsupportive adults at home. The selected items will be available to the entire population but not distributed automatically. The school staff will be aware, address, and direct the student(s) who show a need and can benefit from the inventory of school supplies from this project. Confidentiality and communication have been discussed and will continue with a focus on student success.
Student populations with limited resources have been observed, and it is my desire to provide new supplies to them mid-school year in a manner that will not create a situation where they feel targeted but yet provide for their needs and can focus on their learning.
