My computer lab is a hub of energy and excitement. Over seven hundred students from grades K-5 visit the lab each week and use technology to learn and explore. They are products of a technology age, and I am there to guide their exploration and learning through technology.
Our population is very diverse.
We have many nationalities, cultures and many abilities. We are a Title One school and in a very low-income community where most children receive free lunch. We have an in-depth special education program, a gifted and talented program and a dual language program. My computer lab is used by students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, and many teachers too!
My Project
An elementary school classroom is like no other place in the world. We are a home for our little ones for seven hours a day. Teachers not only provide an education in math, reading and other school subjects; we provide stability, love, acceptance and support for our amazing little people. We educate the whole child. Personally, I strive to teach values, love and acceptance in my room as well.
Often, teaching the curriculum requires items that are not part of a school-shopping list. Teachers create, print, and make all kinds of things for the classrooms and for the students. Our classroom needs name tags to ID our computers, hooks to hang our headphones, wipes to disinfect our desks, and snacks for the students who always come to school without breakfast. Our room is a home away from home and we need supplies to help us create and disinfect at the same time!
My students need basic supplies for the computer room such as sanitizing wipes, tissues, velcro, name tags, and snacks!
Our school supplies from Quill will help the computer lab run smoothly and allow students access to fun, printing and snacking while keeping our laptops clean, headphones organized and germ free!
