Back to School Supplies: Bring Equity to 7th grade ELA!
My students need school supplies to help them learn. They need easel pads, paper, and scented markers. Many of my students come to my class without paper and a pen. This project will ensure every student learns!
Students these days are required to meet high standards in order to prepare for college and beyond. My students have big dreams they want to achieve, but they don't always know how to prepare for those dreams. As an English teacher, my class is designed to prepare students to achieve their goals.
I expect a lot from my students and in turn they expect a lot from me.
Many of my students are reading below grade level and have struggles at home; however, they always try their best in my class no matter how hard that may be. In order to make sure they can try their best, I have to have more materials to help serve them. This project will help me do that!
My Project
These materials will ensure that my students have all the tools they need to succeed. They can use the dry erase markers to write on our mini-white boards. They can use chart paper and markers to work in groups and plan their presentations. They will have loose leaf to write their rough drafts. With these materials, nothing will stand in their way of learning.
These materials will help my students compete with the more wealthier schools in NYC and the suburbs around the metro area.
My students will not feel like they go to a "poor school" that can't afford printer paper, markers and loose leaf. This project will bring equity to education in Brooklyn.
