Back to School Supplies- 2nd Grade- Inner City School
My students need numerous back to school supplies. They need pencils, erasers, dry erase boards, markers, paper, notebooks, pencil sharpener, and word trackers and spacers.
Back to school is such an exciting time for many students... the excitement of picking out a new backpack and school supplies. However there are some students out there that are not able to experience the thrill of new school materials... back to school shopping is not something they partake in.
I have taught for three years and this fall I will be teaching second grade. I teach in an inner city school. Several students come to us from the local homeless shelters. Because of this we have a very high transition rate. We have students that move in and out of our school due to their housing situation. These families have many other issues to worry about, rather than shopping for school supplies. As a school and community we do our best to get these supplies to the students so they do not have to worry about it.
That is where your help comes in. I am asking that you help my second grade students get their hands on bright, new, exciting school supplies such as pencils, markers, and erasers.
I want my students to come to school excited to learn. I want my students to have the materials that many other students take for granted. I want my students to have both their needs and wants met.
This can all be done with your help. I am asking for several basic supplies. However I am also hoping to get some wants into our classroom. I would love for my students to have dry erase boards to use in both our language and math lessons. I want my students to have sentence trackers to help them follow along as they are reading. I would also like my students to have a electric pencil sharpener so we are able to spend more time on our lessons and less time sharpening pencils.
Because of you all of this will be possible. I can see their faces light up with excitement as they have all of these great back to school supplies in their second grade classroom!! Thank you for your consideration!
