My classroom is full of students who are emergent bilingual learners. All of my students are learning English. My emergent bilingual learners are either recent arrivals or brand new to the country. My students bring a wide variety of cultures, languages, and experiences to the classroom in order to create a diverse learning environment.
In addition to learning English, my students are expected to expand their knowledge in order to reach the 2nd grade Common Core curriculum state standards.
My school is a small inclusive public school that is part of a large urban district where over 75% received free or reduced-price lunch.
All of these supplies are essentials in my classroom. However, they are consumable essentials, meaning that they need to be replaced year after year! While individually they may not seem too pricey, they can add up!
These resources help keep my students organized and engaged!
The colored paper, card stock, laminating sheets, and sheet protectors allow me to color code materials that will last through the year! Additionally, the glue sticks are used with everything in our classroom from word sorts, picture sorts, concept sorts, art projects, and creative projects! These materials help my students to learn hands on and independently!
