My Students
My students are enthusiastic, passionate 3rd graders who are curious about the world around them. They want to learn more about themselves, their friends, their community and their histories. They approach every opportunity with an open mind and kind spirit.
Many of my students are immigrants or the children of immigrants.
They are curious about where they come from and excited about sharing their stories with others. My school serves a low-income, primarily Latino community. My students believe in themselves and their potential. They ALWAYS work hard.
In our learning community, I want my students' curiosity and passion to be validated by what they learn and how they see themselves represented in our classroom. In my vision for my students, learning about self-identity supports and bolsters reading and math development. The next generation of leaders must believe in themselves!
My Project
My students need an organized classroom with appropriate materials. We need markers to show our work, a schedule to stay on task and focused on our goals and a bathroom sign out system so students don't need to interrupt learning to ask to use the restroom.
The tools in this project will help my classroom run more smoothly so that kids can focus on learning.
We need back to school necessities so that I can focus on teaching rather than supply hunting and my students don't need to worry about where they will get the materials they need to participate in class.
