Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I can't say enough wonderful things about my students. They are hard-working, creative, kind, and considerate. My class loves reading, writing, math, social studies, STEM, and learning about the world around them! These kids are eager and ready to learn!
We truly have a diverse learning community within our room.
This allows us to learn from one another. We have a very strong classroom community. My students look out for and care about each other. Thank you for your consideration!
My Project
I'm so excited that I am moving from 2nd grade to 3rd grade with my students! Looping (teaching the same class in consecutive years) it is a great experience for all involved! Last year, my class and I read many amazing books together! To begin our year in 3rd grade, we need some new books to use as read alouds.
Read alouds provide time for students to grow, learn, and have fun with their classmates while connecting over a new book.
I've selected books that my students haven't read and will be new to our classroom library. Some of these books are silly, some of more serious, but all of them will add great discussion and value to the start of our school year. I tried to select books that my students can see themselves in and books to learn about people different from them. The first few weeks of school are crucial for establishing a strong classroom community. These books will help me do that. Thank you for your consideration!
