I teach 3rd grade. I love the transition my students make from primary to intermediate grade. They are figuring out how important school is and learning to be more independent! They also are perfectionists and go through tons of materials at this age.
My third graders come from diverse backgrounds and bring so much personality into the classroom.
Unfortunately, as most teachers know these days, the money for extras, let alone basics are just not there. My 3rd graders are grateful as am I for any outside support we receive through DonorsChoose.org projects.
It's back to school time! Many kids come with new backpacks with plenty of supplies. Many don't. There are kids who walk in without even the basics. A classroom goes through so many basic supplies. Items like pencils, glue sticks, and markers run out by January! Twenty eight bodies in a small room also is a germ factory. These Clorox wipes will allow me to wipe all surfaces every day. (And trust me the Clorox wipes are black EVERY day after I wipe the tables down.)These supplies will keep us stocked for an entire year. I hate to send notes home in the middle of school asking for parents to buy more supplies. This will make sure I don't have too. We have so much to learn, it's nice to not have to worry about basics!
