Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 30 students at a Title I school with a focus on arts and technology. My students excel when classwork is connected to movement, technology, art and science activities. Therefore, we make learning fun whenever we can! They love to do activities on the computer, show their learning through art, build science projects and learn outdoors.
My students are helpful and resourceful.
They learn quickly, especially from hands-on experiences. I want to give them so many more experiences! DonorsChoose.org can help us fill that gap.
My Project
These materials will help my students settle into a new classroom with fresh new materials. New highlighters will be used for studying and finding text evidence within reading. This will help them to later cite sources which helps with college and career readiness! Wobble seats will help students to move during learning while staying engaged. This helps some students and research shows that movement while learning helps students retain information. Dry erase clipboards are multipurpose and will be for outdoor and indoor learning that they can share with the class. Pretzels will be used in times of need to help students who may have gone without breakfast that day.
