Ms. Miller from Washington DC is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need classroom and hygiene basics for the beginning of the school year!

My students are diamonds--resilient young people who carry hope and develop despite pressures and challenges. Coming from the heart of Washington, DC, my diamonds are predominantly African-American; many are from a lower socio-economic background.
Most importantly, they are poets and dreamers and engineers and athletes and critical thinkers and revolution starters.
Although each year, I am blown away by my students' character. They are brave risk-takers and fearless learners, embracing any academic challenge and overcoming every obstacle. I'm so honored to work with these inspiring young people every day!
As the school year begins, it's time to refresh the basic supplies that students need. My students come from a diverse background and are so excited to learn, but they aren't always prepared for class.
By providing supplies, you'll support seamless, shameless classroom learning where students can spend their time focused on learning and growing.
With these items, students can focus on learning--whether it's making a chart to express their understanding, writing a first draft of a personal narrative poem, or diving into daily reading. Students also feel more comfortable knowing that all their needs--lotion, tissue, hand sanitizer--can be found within the classroom.
