My students need the metal stools with padded seats for seating alternatives, as well as basic school supplies that include tissues, wipes, dry erase markers, erasers, highlighters, and pencil sharpeners.
My classroom is set up to assist students who need extra help with basic academic skills. They come to me for this extra assistance. These students often times have one academic area whereby they need more help than another academic area.
Students need to have a welcoming environment to enhance their learning and help them reach their highest potential.
This school is located in a low socioeconomic area, and having enough school supplies is often times challenging; however, the learning potential is very high. These precious children deserve the same learning environment and opportunities as children who live in a more affluent area.
My Project
Alternative seating helps some students break up their day a bit and data shows they learn better in different types of seating choices. The stools are good quality and the seat is padded.
No child should have to worry about not having some basic school tools when they start a new school year.
Simple items like tissues for runny noses, wipes for simple messes, erasers, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, reusable dry erase pockets, and dry erase boards and markers are a few items that will help these students start their new school year without the negative stigma of not having some basic necessities.
