My students need supplies! The area is low-income and many students come to school without supplies, making it difficult to implement procedures/lessons. Some items are items I need for organization that I still do not have.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are eager to learn and are extremely curious. Scholars are introduced to new material by using inquiry-based learning in the classroom. I allow my students to explore by implementing hands-on materials, allowing them to participate in active movement, and enhancing their social skills by encouraging fluent collaboration. They find joy in reading, singing, dancing, and creating projects to share with one another. My students are special because they love learning from one another and teaching each other what they've learned!
My Project
My students learn using an inquiry-based approach.
Majority of my students come to school the first few weeks and still do not bring supplies.
These are only a few BASIC things I need in my classroom to be successful using inquiry-based learning during the first few weeks of school. The folders will be used for homework, to refer to during classroom activities, and for centers. During my first year of teaching, I realized I did not have enough bins to stay organized. I also still do not have a pocket chart stand, and since my classroom is very small I ran out of room for a few of my pocket charts.
