My students are dreamers, problem solvers, and likely the most creative little people you will ever meet.
They are a happy group of first graders who love school and love to learn.
My students' economic situations are just as varied as are their family dynamics. We have military families with a local National Guard unit in our area and an Air Force base close by. We aim to take good care of our military families. Our district includes an Indian Reservation and we have a high population of Hispanic students, many of whom have family members who work in the agricultural industry. It is so rewarding to teach, whether I am helping a gifted student learn, one coping with ADHD learn, or anything in between. I feel like I have the best job ever!
My Project
I believe every teacher in this country is looking forward to days where things are back to normal, where we can learn together in the same classroom, and where we can see our students again. We look forward to the day when it's safe to return to school and a vaccine for the Corona Virus is found. Hopefully, that is sooner than later. I am hopeful and want to start planning for the future. We need water bottles, so the children can stay hydrated. The t-shirts are used as a reward for reading. The children read and earn points. Even though we aren't in school right now, children are home reading. When they achieve enough points they get to design a shirt that says, "I love Reading!" The Safety Name badges will be a welcome sight because when they are worn, it will mean we are back to normal, learning together in our classroom. That will be a great day!
