Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are excited and ready to start fourth grade! We have a wide range of learners in my classroom including students with disabilities and English Language Learners.
We are an inclusion classroom, and most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
I believe in targeting all learners and differentiating instruction while providing students with a safe learning environment where they can succeed. It is my goal to provide a rich learning environment for my students where they can be motivated to learn.
My Project
We will be starting this school year off with remote learning. It will be a challenging year as we navigate through online learning, and I would like to provide my students with care packages to deliver to their homes.
The majority of my students do not have access to books and school materials like colored pencils, headphones, notebooks, binders, and dry erase pockets.
The reading comprehension and writing notebooks will provide my students with practice to deepen their understanding of the concepts they are learning. Having these materials on hand will not only motivate and excite the students but will also prepare them well for the school year.
My goal is to personally deliver these care packages that will consist of necessary school supplies that many of my students will not be able to afford. This donation will allow my 20 students to have the opportunity to have access to books and other school supplies to motivate and cultivate their learning.
