My Project

My students are a very diverse group with a united goal: reaching the finish line. Some students will be the first generation of high school graduates from their families while others are following a legacy. Many have goals to continue education past high school in college, trade school, and military forces. Few of our students are originally from our area—some have moved from other towns, states, and even countries. This unique blend of learners brings a wealth of information and experience to our classroom, but it also brings additional challenges. No two students learn the same way: they have varying levels of parental support outside of the classroom, and some students have additional responsibilities including jobs or caring for siblings after the final bell rings each day.

Coronavirus has impacted most of my students' lives in multiple ways, including having to step up and contribute to the family income and stay home from school to take care of sick family members.

My project will take some of the burdens off of the students and allow them to come to school feeling secure about having the proper tools to prosper.

My students are visual learners and the graphing dry erase mats will help my students to better understand transformations of figures and graphs. The coloring materials- crayons, colored pencils, markers, and highlighters will help with more effective & engaging note taking. Magnetic pockets will add efficiency in our classroom routine.

I have a very diverse group of student learners, some of whom have special needs. These tools will allow me to better address their needs. These items help to keep my instruction differentiated and allow students to work at varying levels on similar tasks to reach the same end goal of understanding and applying learning.
