Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school believes that literacy is the heart of education. It is so fundamental to learning that its importance in our school cannot be overstated.
My class consists of 24 amazing students.
They are energetic, unique, happy 2nd graders. They come into my classroom with different characteristics, skills and life experiences. These differences help us to build a cohesive and collaborative classroom community. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have learners that are excited and ready to learn!
My Project
Our 2nd grade team would love to have a classroom set of clipboards. We would use them in a variety of ways during the school day. One way we would utilize them is during reading time. Our students would bring their clipboards to the carpet with a graphic organizer. As I read, they could record their thinking. This would be a fantastic way to keep our kids engaged.
The Expo dry erase markers would also be used daily to quickly assess students thinking without having to waste paper.
The students can quickly write their answer and as a class we can see who gets it and who doesn't.
We are excited to get these basic classroom supplies!
