Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a high poverty area and many students have parents that are in the military. In spite of their financial situation, my students are geared toward success. They are highly motivated and practice outside of school hours, daily. Music is definitely important in their lives and they show it every day with their positive attitudes and the desire to learn.
Our school community provides students the opportunity to reach their highest level of personal well-being and intellectual independence by creating a safe learning environment that empowers students to become responsible and productive as contributing individuals in our ever-changing world.
My Project
We need some basic supplies for our classroom.
My students are in need of white board markers and erasers for their music white boards, clips for their music stands, disinfecting wipes to keep their stands clean, paper for daily work, and Kleenex.
We use our white boards and markers daily to practice pitch and rhythmic notation and ink must be replaced. Erasers are essential so that the students don't wipe the boards with their hands or clothing. Having extra paper in our classroom will help a lot of students. My students are low income and many come to school with out paper or pencils.
