My Students
My classroom is an exceptional children's Pre-K located in a public school. My classroom is a self-contained classroom, serving students from ages three to five years old. Our county is a very small, rural community, that is very close knit, proud and strong. That has never been more evidenced than in the past few weeks. Our school and community were hit hard by Hurricane Florence. The school was flooded and the damage was not able to be repaired, and the classrooms were relocated to other schools. We lost almost all of the materials in the classroom.
My Project
As we look at putting our classroom back together and getting back to normal, we knew that we had to start with the basics. With that being said, plain old simple Construction paper is undeniably, without a single doubt, one of the most important basic needs in a quality Early Childhood Classroom. It is often an essential in the lesson plan process!
The bright colors hold student attention, elicit excitement, foster color recognition skills, and feed the imagination and foster creativity. The paper is a little heavier than other paper, making it the perfect paper for beginning hands to practice fine motor skills and scissor skills with.
