Back to Basics: Essential Tools for a Great School Year!
My students need organizers, scissors, highlighters and other supplies to ensure that their school year runs smoothly. Many of the items in this cart help facilitate the day-to-day educational experiences of my students to maximize learning.
My students are a diverse group of intelligent, caring and curious 7th graders who love learning! Each day is an exciting opportunity for them to learn something new and expand their knowledge. Our school is located in a small suburb of Middle Tennessee and many of my students are from families with financial challenges.
As their ELA teacher, it is very important for me to provide them with the absolute best in quality learning experiences and resources.
Every student that I teach values education immensely and loves to learn. They are an absolute joy to teach and my inspiration for striving to become a better teacher each year that I am blessed to do so.
My Project
The resources included in my project will help to foster an excellent start to the upcoming school year. Because many of the students I teach are underprivileged, even these basic neccesities are often a challenge to provide every student over the course of the school year.
In a middle school reading classroom such as mine, students often need tools such as highlighters to underline text details and vocabulary words.
In addition, our interactive notebooks often include activities in which cutting and pasting graphic organizers and other resourceful tools are needed.
Finally, students in my classroom are seated in groups where tools such as staplers, will help with completing assignments and turning them in efficiently.
