Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One of the most powerful ideas I believe I can teach my students is they are not victims of their circumstances. They can "dig deep" and overcome any obstacle they face.

Many of my students find themselves in difficult and transient living situations: sleeping on the hard tile floor, motel room chairs and couches, bouncing between family members or other families who are gracious enough to house them.

My students continually surprise me as they perservere through adversity learning the meaning of hard work and effort takes you incredible places. They are a group of kind-hearted, sweet, and hard working individuals who are continually overcoming adversity and daily challenges.

My Project

This classroom project is to help provide seating options for students who sit at the back table. They often complain of not being able to see science demonstrations, and the other stools we have don't have back support to provide comfy seating option.

These stools will help provide my students with comfortable and supportive options that allow them to choose where they learn best.

My students often are not able to choose what happens in their lives, but in my classroom, they finally have that opportunity.

Please help us continue our transition into a flexible seating classroom where students get to choose where they best learn, and where they feel most at home.
