My students attend a public school in an inner city district. Our classrooms size consists of up to 26 students and one teacher. Many of our students struggle meeting grade level expectations in Reading as well as Math, often performing well bellow grade level. With the materials available, we try our best to support their academic goals.

My Project
The materials in this project are the basic supplies students need in every classroom across the country. Not all families are able to provide these materials at the beginning of, or throughout the school year. In my classroom, I provide materials on the first day of school for each child. Any materials that are brought in are saved and used as needed for replenishment.
Ultimately, providing an equal ground for all students is the goal!
Pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, and markers are materials that students use regularly. Having seat sacks will help students organize students individual activities and independent reading books. Having and maintaining proper supplies is essential in student development, growth and overall success. The classroom function depends on having all necessary tools on hand.
