Step inside my classroom, and I can guarantee my students will put a smile on your face. They love to learn and eager to discover about their world around them at only 3 and 4 years old. We have various centers that we "work" in where we learn about the world around us: block area, house area, wood working are, manipulatives, library area, art area and writing center.
Although my students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds, they share a love for learning.
They love learning about the world around them through play. Play is the work of the young child; it is how our youngest learners discover the world around them.
We have a wonderful house area in our preschool classroom. It looks just like a real tiny house, but it's missing one thing...babies!
We do not have any baby dolls in our preschool classroom.
This is unfortunate as I believe every preschool should have some baby dolls. This is how the students learn how to be good moms, dads, aunts and uncles. It's where our future starts to learn how to be caring towards others. They also learn self help skills - by taking care of the babies, feeding and changing them as well. I have a lot of future moms and dads in my classroom who would love to care for some baby dolls!
