Ms. Willis from Philadelphia PA is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need desperately school supplies, such as: Copy Paper, Colored Pencils and Highlighters. The items that I have supplied for the class at the beginning of the year are almost depleted. Your helped is needed.

Many of my students have never had supplies this school year. Being prepared with the basic necessities like notebooks, pencils and highlighters are crucial for the learning environment. As a Teacher must be prepared with the curriculum, students must be armed with their tools as well.
I teach in an economically challenged, inner city school district.
My classroom consists of 32 lively and energetic scholars. I try to make learning fun for them by aligning the curriculum to real world experiences, but when it comes time for certain activities that require more than a pencil or pen, it becomes challenging. My students love hands on activities. I am blessed with many students who show potential in being artistic in some form or fashion. Allowing me the opportunity to continue providing them with fun, hands on activities will be greatly appreciated by myself and my scholars as well.
My scholars will use these resources as they increase their learning. The highlighters will be used as we mark up the text in Literacy. Color coding the evidence from the text will allow students to identify their information faster as they begin to write answers to their constructed responses. The color pencils and glue will be used as we extend the lessons with hands on activities like our interactive notebooks. The grading pencils will help students monitor their own learning and help with peer editing. In addition, the copy paper will allow the learning to go beyond the classroom walls . By giving them academic material that they can take home with them is essential. Some students may require that extra time to process what they learned. Having the resources available to do that is beneficial to my scholars.
Your donations to this project will ensure that each of my scholars will have the resources that they need.
They will not have to share or wait until someone else is finished using certain items. They will have a renewed since of accomplishment because they are prepared and ready to begin at the same time as everyone else. It may seem like such an insignificant moment, but the overwhelming sense of pride that these items will bring to my scholars is priceless.
