Who says writing needs to just be about paper and pencils? Learning can be more than a worksheet. Writing should be fun and interactive. Imagine the fun of taking your own photo, printing it out in the classroom, and writing a story about it. The technology is here and my students are ready!
I have 40 amazing students.
I mainstream 10 students and 6 are autistic. My first graders love school. It is a place that provides them a feeling of safety and security from the daily challenges they have at home. Students should develop a love of learning and school from a very young age. To encourage this love, learning should be fun, interesting, and creative.
My Project
What better way to provide hands-on materials such as using the Epson Picture Mate Charm Compact Photo Printer to help us be creative in writing. They would be in cooperative groups, so all students including those I mainstream would be successful. Students would find a subject they are interested in to inspire their story and take a photo of it with my digital camera. Students would then be able to print it out themselves right there in the classroom! Having their picture in seconds would be so exciting. Then they would create a story to go with their pictures. Writing doesn't have to be boring anymore. Students would create these stories in their cooperative groups and present them. I can print out duplicate pictures and make copies for everyone in the group. This will inspire everyone to be an author.
Amazing donors like you are so important to classrooms like ours.
These materials will really enhance the overall writing experience for my students. They will choose what they want to photograph and print it out with the Epson photo printer. Students would be collaborating to meet the Common Core standards together. Please know that your donation of will make a huge impact and will be much appreciated!
