Help me give my students awesome art supplies like: no spill paint cups with lids, kwik stix - fast drying paint, stools for comfy seating at the art table and shoe rack for art storage!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I, First Step, Pre-Kindergarten school. We are the largest in the area, serving approximately 500 students. Our school accepts those who are identified as academically high-risk and we provide school readiness activities for 4- and 5-year-old children in full-day programs.
Most of our students come from low-income households.
All of our students receive a free breakfast and lunch meals each day. We have 18 intelligent, curious, and eager-to-learn students in our classroom who will benefit greatly from DonorsChoose.org.
My Project
Children learn through their senses! My students would really benefit from some awesome art supplies that will support their creativity and imagination. I would love to replace the standard chairs at our art table for more comfortable stool seating. We have had some experience with kwik stix painting sticks and they are amazing! It is a class favorite and we have shared our supply with the school, so now it's time to replenish!
Children express their thoughts, feelings and emotions when painting and drawing their art.
I want my students to feel comfortable and know that they have the freedom to use their imagination to show how they feel. I would love a shoe rack near our art table to store supplies in an area that students can get the materials themselves. This encourages independence and a responsibility to care for our classroom supplies. Please support our goal to have some awesome art!
