Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a diverse population of thinkers, explorers, dreamers, and leaders. They draw from a large neighborhood that is as economically diverse as our country. Our school and their library is a safe place for them to meet and share their ideas.
These students come to the library to relax, to dream, to learn, and to play.
They should have library materials that help them attain these goals. High-quality reading material that is comprised of both fiction and non-fiction literature will help facilitate this.
My Project
The American Library Association just released the newest, brightest, and most relevant books for children and young adults. These books speak to our students by capturing readers in a story in the way only a master storyteller can do. They give facts and a fresh look to a situation that speaks to the reader. These fiction and non-fiction books that have just been declared award winners, and are a must for the school library. Everyday, I have hungry students looking to devour the latest book. I would love to provide them with quality literature and informational text to captivate their eager desire for books.
