My students excitedly enter school each day ready to learn and with smiles on their faces. The school consists of open classrooms which are quite unique. The entire elementary school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch.
My students come from diverse backgrounds with a strong desire to learn and be challenged.
They seize opportunities and are excited by new perspectives and additions to the classroom. Classroom instruction includes highly engaging, hands-on activities to keep students focused and motivated. My students are in need of opportunities to build a strong educational foundation that will benefit them their entire lives.
My Project
How much could possibly be lost in one summer? Research indicates 2 months of reading skills and 2 1/2 months of math skills are lost over a single summer. These materials will provide resources for my students to avoid summer learning loss and enage in active learning instead.

9 out of 10 teachers have to re-teach material when kids return to school in the fall in order to get students caught up. This takes up valuable learning time and experiences. Math and ELA Interactive Notebooks will provide hands-on learning experiences for my students. 3rd grade skills will be reviewed, reinforced, and made easily accessible to them. The materials and books requested are grade specific and aligned with the state standards ensuring high quality educational opportunities.
