My Students

Next year, my school will become an AVID school. It will implement : student success skills and organizational skills. In order to do this the students need supplies.

Webster students come from a variety of situations.

Most families struggle to live day to day. 98% of the students are on free or reduced lunch and usually cannot buy their own supplies for school. I am the major provider of materials in my classroom.

My Project

Next year, Webster will implement AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID uses a color code system and class agendas, so the binder will hold these materials to ensure they are prepared for each class they attend.The students will use the binders to keep their materials organized. They will learn how to organize those materials and keep a clean binder.

As exciting as it is to have the nationally recognized program, Webster students would have difficulty buying the necessary supplies and providing these supplies out of pocket is more than I am capable to do.

This project will make a difference because the binders are the biggest expense of all the needed supplies for avid. The binders are also the main component for the Avid program to work.
