My Students

Our students are first-generation, college-bound students, who show advancement via individual determination in both academics and leadership.

Our students are in the academic "middle" and are trying to navigate the college preparatory experience on their own with the help and support of their AVID teacher/counselors/mentors.

My Project

One of the key organizational strategies for AVID students is the use of an academic planner to document their daily homework assignments. Our students currently do not have a dedicated planner for themselves. This planner can be taken home to ensure that students prioritize assignments and focus on what is due throughout the month.

One of the ways students can excel academically is through the AVID strategy of organization and writing.

The planner will help identify projects and assignments that take priority over the week and allow parents to work with their student to see what they need to work on each evening. Not all students have access to electronics from home, so this hand-held planner will work perfectly.
