Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 25 amazing, talented first graders. First graders focus on learning foundational skills and putting them into context. They are ready and eager to learn. These 6 and 7 year-olds thrive on new knowledge to support their success.
Our school has roughly 45% of the students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
This makes it difficult to ask for and receive classroom donations from students and their families. With the requested materials, my students will create, make, learn, practice, and do.
My Project
As an AVID school and AVID district, one of the big components is organization. We will be moving toward learning and practice in various journals, as well as hands-on play with center activities. The different bins will help to organize the multiple journals and center games for easier use.
Organizing our materials will help to organize our minds and help us to be college and career ready.
It is important to teach, model, and practice organization so my students will be able to be organized in life and in their careers. Your donation can help my students move towards organization and AVID success. Thank you for your help and consideration.
