AVID Begins With Organization

Help me give my students storage to help with organizing their work space. Fourth grade is piloting AVID and the rolling storage carts will help with organization, a key component of the program. The rug adds more comfort.

My Students

My students this year are bright and active. I am enjoying their dynamic personalities and I love getting to know them! We are working together to develop routines and work habits.

I have a very diverse group of students.

I have several English language learners, a few special needs students, and an array of academic levels. There are many strong personalities in my class as well. We continue to build community within our classroom with daily morning meetings and sharing about ourselves. We practice daily mindfulness to start each day.

My Project

The rolling carts will be at the end of each table of 4-5 students. Their work spaces are limited because they have so many materials they need throughout the day like chrome books, reading bins, math journals, notebooks, and everyday classroom materials. The carts will also save on transition time as we are constantly getting and putting away materials. Organization is a key component to the AVID program we are piloting and these carts will be greatly useful with organizing of materials. The extra room carpet will give more students a comfortable space when reading independently or working on their Chromebooks.
