I would like to have an Averkey to connect my computer to the large tv mounted on my wall. With all of the wonderful computers we have, with all of the excellent web sources available, I want my students to be able to share their powerpoints, beautiful pamphlets, incredible stories and poems, and "explored" Internet sites with the entire class. Having an Averkey would allow us to use the computer and save trees! All students would be engaged! We also have the Daystreaming program in our state. In order to utilize these "on hand" video clips of history,geography, economics, etc. we need an Averkey. The video clips are designed to help teach the state standards in social studies. Hanahan Middle School is a typical small community middle school. We have 800 students from 5th - 8th grade. While all socio-economic levels are represented, we have 35% of our student population qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Many of these students do not have technology available at home. They come in early to use the computer. Being able to share their work with their classmates would be a boost to their self-esteem. I strive to help all of my students become as technologically proficient as my resources allow. All 200 of my eighth grade students would benefit from the Averkey. The Averkey would be a permanent resource and an investment in the education of all who enter room C-219 at HMS. We would have more time to spend on learning.
