My Students

With the growth of our Film 1 classes increasing from 2 to 7 classes, we have a need to develop additional class offerings beyond the first year of Film 1.

Currently, our Film 2 classes focus solely on broadcasting.

Students in these classes have two options: work on the CavCast variety show or work on the LTTV football crew. There are many students who are passionate about film but do not sign up to progress through the program due to these limitations.

There is a need for a creative outlet with film. We need an additional approach to our growing film program.

My Project

We're a District of Innovation and this class is as authentic a learning experience as they come. Public schools need to be able to compete with charter schools, private schools, and education on a global level.

In AV Production 5 (Television), we will participate in a writer's workshop during the fall semester.

Here we will break down, and draft 13 scripts all co-written by students for one full season of a television show. In the spring semester, we will film the pilot episode of the show we've created.

This course could serve as a flagship for L.T. High School and help it transition into what education experts have called "School 2.0." These schools of the future are student-driven, hands-on experiences that help them transition directly into meaningful and gainful employment.

This course would touch so many different classes and curriculums, it is something L.T. High School can get behind as an entire school.
