Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This is the time to greatly impact how my children will learn and function in a school setting. They are five and six year olds with autism. They are not speaking words yet, and are learning to understand their feelings - without the ability to communicate with adults. They are new to school, routines, focusing on a task, using pencils at a desk, sitting in their spot to eat food, sharing, and being away from home.

As they are so young, this is a crucial time in their development to succeed in the future years.

If I can teach them to communicate, regulate their behavior and sit for a task- this will give each of them the foundations to learn.

This is their target growth period. We are in an inner city school with no budget for classrooms. I have spent as much of my own money as I can. I would so appreciate your support. These items will help them learn to take time out when angry, rather than hurting themselves or the adults near them.
