Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Children with Autism have difficulty communicating with others and making their needs known.
All of my students come from low-income families and attend a Title I school in Louisiana.
My class consists of one 1st grader, three 2nd graders, two third graders, and one 5th grader. Although my students are non-verbal autistic, they each enjoy and want to learn and communicate with others.
My Project
Since my students have difficulty communicating verbally, the best thing for them is to learn and use sign language. By helping to donate the sign language books will help both my students and me learn sign language so the students and communicate better. My students also learn best through hands-on activities. Helping to donate the learning manipulatives will help me students learn in the way they do best.
By donating to this project you will impact my students' lives drastically.
By learning and using sign language they will be able to communicate to others and let their needs be known. Also, with the leaning manipulatives they will learn in a way that meets their needs.
