I teach fourth grade in a Title I school. My leaders are full of life and always ready to explore and learn. I am a teacher in a low income/high poverty area. Many of my students come from a single parent household and receive free lunch. Because of these challenges, these students do not always have the necessary items they need to succeed in school. As a teacher, I can not control these students' home life, but I do have a say in what students have at school.
My Project
In forth grade, we have been studying specific authors lately. One author that my class has loved is Roald Dahl. He is a great author with such a great imagination. My students have the opportunity to read books in small groups and really dive into the content, characters and theme. Roald Dahl books will really allow students to dig deep into the content. Not only are these books content rich, but they are stories that students love and are timeless. When students love the books they are reading, they are more likely to engage in the work that goes along with the book. Please consider donating to this project!
