Help me give my students the tools they need to create their own professional booklets on their most important writings. They will use the spiral punch machine as well as the rings to cement their work.
Our students are the minds of the future. Furthermore, they come to us from many different backgrounds and needs. Our school is a Title I school with many children who have additional needs outside the classroom. They come to school eager to learn and are ready for any new challenge.
Our students are energetic and ready for a challenge.
Some students come from families that prepare them with a college ready mindset in academics and some students need extra support to get them prepared and excited about future opportunities. Regardless of their families and backgrounds, I love the daily challenge to motivate and inspire them to achieve their absolute best!
My Project
Students will use the spiral machine and accessories to collect their most valuable writings from their 5th grade year. We engage the children in a variety of real world writing such as writing to local leaders, local businesses, national groups, letters to current and previous teachers as well as communicating with each other and to document their life.
From letters to the editor, journal entries from a historic hurricane experience, letters to and from their favorite teachers and some of their favorite compositions, children need to feel the value in their written words.
By assembling their best collections, they will have added value in composing work weekly and organizing it for their final product.
Students will not only put forth their best efforts in writing across multiple subjects including science and history, they will also understand the different roles in a business to prepare, print and assemble written documents.
We will conclude our printing and binding events at an end of the year Author's Showcase.
