My Students

This project will allow my students to "Show the writer within them", through technology. My students stand outside of my door every morning with the thirst for knowledge, waiting for me to let them in, so that they can explore writing.

Can't wait to write, passion to write, thirsting for knowledge; all these phrases describe my students.

My school is a Title 1, low income school, but my students are truly great writers and I want them to experience writing with up to date technology. The computers in my class are called "dinosaurs" by my students. They should experience technology that does not take 10 minutes to boot up.

My Project

My students need an iPad mini and a Microsoft-Surface with type cover. They will be able to use these material for writing, typing and publishing compositions. They will also be able to use these material to research, as a resource and to enrich their knowledge. Specifically my students will be able to play learning games that will allow them to check their grammar, word usage and capitalization.

It goes without saying, that this classroom technology will have a great impact on their future and their knowledge of how to use real-life materials in the writing world.

I see the future of my students as publishers, editors and a world of possibility, so I want them to have the equipment to become what I see in them.
