Ms. A. from Cleveland OH is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need quality books for our classroom, a CD player, and a book binding machine so that they can become authors and illustrators of their own books.

The center is located in a culturally diverse area as well as all the surrounding neighborhoods. We embrace the learning that connects us together on a daily basis. The children in Preschool 1 are a group of eager and energetic three, four, and five year olds.
The children are captivated with books.
They love to read and listen to stories everyday. The teachers in the classroom take turns going to the local library and bring back different types of books for the children and they look forward to seeing the library bag every week.
I want to continue to grow their love for reading by expanding the library area in our classroom. As the famous Dr. Seuss said,
"The more you read, the more things you will know, the more you learn the more places you will go."
Reading is very vital to the first 2000 days of a young child's life. Giving children the vocabulary, phonological awareness, and an opportunity to use their imagination and enhance critical thinking is something that every parent and teacher should embrace. The children in my classroom love to read books. Every week the teaching teams share in utilizing the local library and selecting books for three, four, and five-year-olds. So, I thought why not expand the library that we have in our classroom by adding new books to our collect and a portable CD player to create a listening center as well, that they can listen to books on CD. Adding new authors such as Mo William who wrote, "Should I Share My Ice Cream" and adding familiar ones like Eric Carle who is famous for "Brown Bear Brown Bear what Do You See?" Another item that I am asking for in this donation is a bookbinding machine, which will give the children an opportunity to become authors and illustrators. Reading their own book is the beginning of learning to read. They will be able to use their narrative skills, letter recognition, and print awareness. This will prepare them for kindergarten.
The teaching team in this classroom wants the love of books to continue through their young life and beyond!
I want them to be able to see their hard work bound together like the books that they read. A child's best way of learning is by hands-on experiences.
