My Students

Many of our families are in survival mode. A little less than half of our students are able to participate in online learning on a regular basis due to family circumstances. Some families have limited access to a computer device, or no internet. Other students are going to daycare centers or staying with family friends while their parents work. It is often difficult for our students to complete online assignments. While families are doing their best, students need access to hands on materials that they can complete assignments independently.

My Project

These journals will give my students a way to continue practicing writing at home. We have spent the entire year focusing on creating amazing writing pieces. My students have come so far! They have went from writing a couple of sentences to writing multi paragraph essays!

My hope is this journal will keep their flame for writing burning bright.

I want to deliver these journals to their homes to give them encouragement and hope. I want them to know I believe in them. I can't wait to read and hear about what they write so I can keep cheering them on. This will make our Zoom sessions even more special as they share what they have created.
