Welcome to my room! My kindergarten students are the most inquisitive and curious children I've had the pleasure of teaching! They have a passion for literacy and writing, especially writing stories about things they love!
Ninety percent of my students live below the poverty line and many students have broken families or are living in some state of transition, so we need to establish our community to build our literacy and writing skills!
Due to the irregularity of many of their lives outside the classroom, many of my students enter school with little background knowledge about the writing process. Since many of the students I serve enter school below grade level, it is vital to protect every minute of learning in order to prepare them for academic success, as well as providing them the best tools to build a love of writing!
My students are learning to use writing materials for a purpose: to channel their inner author! With your donation, students will truly see themselves in the role of an author through the use of a book binding machine and laminating packets. With child friendly materials like these (not to mention a staple-less stapler!), you are making it possible for these children to improve their writing as authors!
It is essential that students have the tools they need to become authors in early childhood learning.
Thanks to you, my children will have no problem gaining an excitement for writing! With the use of quality pencils and paper, these children will become authors in no time!
